Former Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency to Provide Strategic Counsel to Leadership Team

RESTON, Va., August 20, 2012 – L-3 STRATIS announced today that it has appointed retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Carroll Pollett as senior vice president of strategic development. LTG Pollett will focus on enhancing STRATIS’ position in its core markets and identify new markets for strategic growth.

With 37 years of service in the U.S. Army, LTG Pollett’s distinguished career has included a variety of key leadership roles, culminating in his dual appointment as Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and as Commander, Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO) from 2008 to 2012. Prior to these appointments, he was the Chief of Staff, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM).

LTG Pollett is a former member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and co-chaired White House strategic planning and execution efforts for mobile communications modernization. He has also represented the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in discussions with foreign governments concerning communications standards, and has held command positions at all echelons of the U.S. Army.

LTG Pollett holds a Master of Science in business administration from Central Michigan University and a Master of Science in national resources strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
