L-3 STRATIS Awarded Health IT Support Contract by the U.S. Air Force

RESTON, Va., December 19, 2012 – L-3 STRATIS announced today that it has been awarded the Information Management /Information Technology (IM/IT) support contract by the United States Air Forces Europe (USAFE) Surgeon General’s (SG) office. This contract, valued at nearly $16 million over five years, will give L-3 STRATIS the opportunity to support the USAFE SG Headquarters in Ramstein AFB, Germany, as well as 10 Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) and eight Geographically Separated Units (GSUs) across five countries in the USAFE Area of Responsibility (AOR).

This win, combined with a similar award from the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) SG office in March of this year, significantly increases the level of L-3 STRATIS’ work in the Air Force medical community. The IM/IT contracts provide the Command Surgeons in each AOR with localized technical services, as well as remote operational management of networks and servers, standardizing information management services and planning, programming and budgeting support of health information services.

“We are excited by this additional opportunity to support the U.S. Air Force with innovative solutions in the health IT arena,” said Les Rose, president of L-3 National Security Solutions. “With the USAFE award, STRATIS is now the leading IT provider to two of the three overseas Command Surgeons.” L-3 STRATIS, a division of L-3’s National Security Solutions Group, located in Reston, Va., serves customers worldwide.
